Simply Ruffled--PR&P 'It's all in the details'

So it's all in the details (I already posted some thoughts here, just in case I didn't get this done). It's another week over at Project Run and Play. And this is another baby shower present, this time for the girl's ballet teacher...do you like how I'm getting to participate by making things I need to?
Presenting 'Simply Ruffled'
--just little ruffles added to make the dress a little something special--
And again I used this Butterick pattern, changing it up again to add some details.
I kind of felt like Cinderella this week, allowing myself to do this fun project 'IF' I got all of the things done I need to...so I started this yesterday at 1pm. I do love how it turned out. Light and airy feeling. It's made our of this floral Swiss dot I found at JoAnn's.
And again, I lined the bodice, foregoing the zipper for a button in the back. I added the ruffles on the arms and the little ruffled placket to the front.
 View of the back
On the bloomers I added a couple rows of ruffles and contrasting bias tape for the leg holes.
I just like this picture and how the rising morning sun (I was up early and got to see it rise...nice after the storms yesterday!) captures the ruffles.

  2. So cute Sally...what discipline to hold off on sewing until you had time. Maybe I should try that...but then again I'd probably never get any sewing done Ha Ha!!
